Weather is one of the most frequently checked pieces of content on any mobile device, and for broadcasters, utilities, and enterprises alike, how that information gets delivered matters as much as the forecast itself. Baron's White Label App has given organizations across the broadcast, enterprise, and international markets a way to deliver that experience under their own brand for years. This fall, it got the biggest update of the year.

"Ten new features in a single release represent a significant change and commitment to Digital. Most of these changes came directly from customer requests. We take our customers' feedback seriously, and we turn it into the product they actually want," said Steve Bray, Vice President of Media at Baron Weather.

Here are some of the highlights from this release:

Alerts That Actually Stand Out

Not every alert carries the same urgency, but they can sound like they do. Custom alert sounds now let users instantly recognize the notifications that matter most, without digging through a stack of alerts to find the one that's urgent.

"One of the features I've been hoping for since day one is the ability to customize alert sounds, and it's finally here. Now, without even having to pick up the phone, a user will be able to tell if the alert they receive is a tornado warning, a lightning alert, or one of the proprietary early warning alerts you can only get from the Baron White Label app. It's an incredible branding opportunity to have my voice deliver that usable information at a time when people need it most," said Matt Laubhan, Owner and Chief Meteorologist of Mississippi LIVE Weather.

A New Way to Generate Revenue

Weather is consistently one of the highest-traffic sections of any local media or utility app, which makes it a natural home for advertising. With this release, local sponsors can now get logo placement directly on the radar screen, one of the most-viewed parts of the app, giving customers a new, high-visibility way to generate revenue from their local sponsors.

A Cleaner Look, Front and Center

As user expectations for app design continue to rise, a dated interface can quietly cost engagement before a user even opens the forecast. The app now features a redesigned interface with streamlined navigation, creating a cleaner, more intuitive experience on every screen.

More Precise, More Relevant

Generic, area-wide conditions only tell part of the story. Current conditions and hourly forecasts now include UV and air quality, and current conditions are more precise, pulling from a user's exact location for a fuller picture of what's happening around them.

More to Explore

Rounding out the release is a rebuilt, full-screen radar experience, the option to silence non-critical alerts overnight, and the ability to schedule weather alerts up to a week in advance.

"The new app interface really modernizes the menu structure. Everything is within thumb's reach," said Matt Laubhan, Owner and Chief Meteorologist of Mississippi LIVE Weather.

Together, these updates reflect Baron's ongoing investment in the White Label App as more than a data feed wrapped in a logo, it's a platform built to grow alongside the organizations that use it. Learn more about what the White Label App can do for you and your users here.
